Out of Point

Alright now, before anyone decides to turn violent and start clobbering me to smithereens for not updating my blog, here goes. As a "Thank you" to you for constantly watching my blog for updates, you shall be rewarded with this post which summarises 10 events that had happened since the last post. Of course, as usual, pictures are included.

I've always preferred to incorporate humour or weird instances into some of my shots, just for variety. I mean, hey, it does get boring after a while to just capture the subject or event from a single point of view right? I assume you are nodding in approval, so I shall go on.

Event One: Asian Aerospace Show 2008 (24 Feb)

While almost everyone else was out there in the sweltering heat and perspiring buckets, I was sitting oh-so-comfortably in a cosy, air-conditioned chalet (or so they call it), with posh looking chairs and tables, and good food. Weird I know, but let's just say that my dad has connections. So, with my butt plopped onto the comfortable red chairs, I decided to celebrate the moment with my camera. I whipped it out, and this was what I took:

The glorious blue drink.

And yup, all 3 cans were mine. =D

Event Two: Mutts and Mittens (29 Feb)

Now now, before any of you turn away in anguish, disgust or fear (perhaps due to a sensitivity towards images of certain animals, like dogs or cats), fear not, for I will not show any. Well, at least organic ones. I saw these cute little critters along the way, and couldn't help but take a picture of these guys. Check it out:

Aren't they just the cutest things in the world? Awwww...

Event Three: Pulau Ubin Camp (24 Mar)

After bringing up the idea of going for a 1 night stay at Pulau for about a month, my friends and I finally got down to it. Since the 3 of us were the adventurous type, we decided to do some backwoodsmen cooking. So we heaved a cooler box filled with food like frozen chicken and fruits, and even brought some live frogs. It's party time!

That's me making a dish called "Dough on a stick". I think that's what it's called.

And that's the most tenderlicious chicken I've ever had. Gob-smacking. *licks lips*

One of the few dogs that accompanied us all night.

Event Four: Jakarta Visit (4 Apr)

Just within the few days that 2 of my church friends and I were there, we had learnt a tremendous amount of life lessons, and heard many touching personal testimonies from the Christians in Jakarta. Having said that, one of the random things I've learnt is that Jakarta is rather urbanized too.

This is one of their major shopping malls. Cool stuff.

Event Five: Freshmen Orientation Workshop, Day 3 (9 Apr)

Amongst the hyped up freshmen frantically rushing to win the station game I was posted to, boredom was slowly but surely creeping up on me, so much so that I could have been consumed by it if something random did not happen to break the curse.

Thank heavens that my plight was resolved, but in a rather unusual way. Don't know if I can consider it a God-sent.

Meet my little winged friend, Mothy. It stood on me for nearly half and hour, till boredom was cleansed from me, and refused to leave afterwards. I had no choice but to let it cling onto someone else.

During Final Clash, I was experimenting with Noel's tele lens, and caught this picture which made me chuckle the moment it appeared on the preview LCD.

Mixed emotions. "I'll crush you!" and "Twiss!".

Event Six: Freshmen Orientation Camp, Day 2 (11 Apr)

After 50,000 steps, 500 shots per person and 12 hours, we still had to play Alfred's "treasure" hunt. Even though my team didn't win the "treasure" hunt, we had a lot of fun.

That's a tonne of fun right there.

Event Seven: Freshmen Orientation Camp, Day 3 (12 Apr)

The last of six consecutive days of the Freshmen Orientation yielded some of the most bizarre and 'oops' shots, all taken with Dickson's xiao bai. (Thanks Dickson!)

Girl on ecstasy?

This was during the ending video. Sharon? You know what to do.

Event Eight: Zoo Visit (15 Apr)

Thanks to Noel's dad, we had the chance to take a spin around the zoo for free. As I did not have a tele lens, I resorted to taking pictures like these:

What a waste of my time.

Event Nine: Week Zero, Regatta (18 Apr)

Yet another tiring day at school. The only thing that made it fun was the 100-400mm lens I rented from Jason! Kudos to Jason for an excellent service rendered, at such an affordable price. It's the perfect lens for future Regatta's. Moving on, here's a shot of our very own dragonboaters!

There's Uncle Yang looking cool in his shades, Nick Teo looking dorky with ugly blue teeth, and wait a minute, ain't that Dickson, on Uncle Yang's right? Somebody tao sia.

Event Ten: CCA Recruitment Drive (24 Apr)

At the inaugural field deployment of VC's new studio strobes, I took the opportunity to take a family portrait. Yay!

Randall, Marian, Xi Yun and myself. Nice!
